BEHOLD

Ok, so I guess I lied. This is clearly not my Scurvy post. I instead chose to spend my time dicking around with my blog and making it even more hideous. You may notice a shiny new banner. I assure you that it is of the utmost quality, and will be the subject of fine art discussions many millenia from now.

I'm not entirely happy with where this is at right now, so expect some subtle changes over the next few days as I fine-tune everything. I really only chose this template because it works with the banner, and I only made the banner because I was tired of the plain-text prefab banner the blog came with. So I'll probably adjust both of these, maybe even introduce a color other than goddamn blue.

That's another odd thing going on here. See, I like green, but there are two kinds of green: The bright, eye-stabbing green that I am fond of, and the gross, Exorcist-vomit green that nobody likes ever. So I instead went with blue, a pleasing, relaxing color to read against. But see, almost no colors go with blue without creating a distracting contrast. So I need to toy with that a bit too. More color equals more good.

But the main thing here is the banner. I wanted a banner, but I lack artistic skill, so I just whipped up something in MSPaint. But I'm not a complete baboon, so the banner will eventually get more better. I guess I really just made this as a way to kickstart my ass into productivity mode. I'm much more inclined to improve something if it is visibly ugly than I am if its "just good enough."

Anyway, I guess I'm rambling at this point. BUT I GUESS THATS THE POINT CLEVER NAME DROP OHOHOHO please tell me its pretty

UPDATE 1: So I think I'm gonna stick with this template. I'm not fond of the empty space on the sides, but I AM fond of the thinner reading column and the fact that the banner will always stay perfectly aligned regardless of window size. In all the other templates I was thinking about switching to, the banner would either be too short or too long depending on what size the window was at the moment. UGLY. Plus, this works for anyone using one of them olde-timey non-widescreen monitors like some kind of porridge-eating dinosaur.

UPDATE 2: Okay, so the current layout is kinda growing on me. It's not perfect, but at the moment, I can't really think of anything to change. So I guess you can consider this the final layout until I get around to making a proper banner. Yaaaaay!
