Halloween may possibly be my second-favorite holiday, so I thought it would be fun to do something special for it this year. And hell, since I'm going to all the trouble anyway, I may as well make it a month-long thing!
For every day until All Hallows' Eve itself, I will post, for your aural enjoyment, one Halloween-y song, and I'll pepper in some other spooky things along the way too!
So, lets get right into it. For Day 1, you get:
While not terribly too spooky on the whole, this song still manages to catch you of guard with its eerie opening just enough to give the whole piece its own air of unease, even though it really is quite a beautiful song. It also serves as a great introduction to the whole slew of scares that you'll be in for once you start the game proper, so lets hope it can also serve as a good intro to my little event here!
Bonus Content!
In addition to a song, every Friday I will also post a link to a spooky game to check out over the weekend. Since we're just starting out, how about something simple?
Yume Nikki is a fairly simple game. To be brief, you play as a young girl as she explores her... disturbing dreams. Your "goal" is to collect all of the "Effects" hidden throughout the game, but really, the "goal" is not the point of the game. You will find yourself enjoying the game much, MUCH more if you just sit back and explore the HUGE game world provided for you, rather than actively hunting down the Effects. After all, its difficult to navigate a dream world if you're actively trying to go to one specific place...
With a huge, HUGE amount of hidden areas, items, and events, Yume Nikki is always fun to crack open, even if you've been everywhere. Because chances are, no matter what you think, you probably haven't seen everything!
